Happy New Year

December 31, 2008 at 12:06 pm (Company News, General Information)

At Northern Ballet Theatre we have been working hard over the festive period making sure the performances of The Nutcracker at The Grand Theatre in Leeds create a warm festive glow for our audiences.

Today is the final performance of the year by the Company and all the dancers and technicians will now enjoy a well-earned break before returning to our West Park headquarters to commence rehearsals for our 40th anniversary programme.

Our Artistic Director David Nixon appears not to have heard about holidays however. On 3 January he will deliver the keynote address at the Royal Academy of Dance Members Conference 2009. Then he flies off to Estonia to spend most of January creating The Three Musketeers on the Estonian National Ballet.

The saying goes that ‘life begins at 40’ and if this is true then 2009 is going to be a great year for us as we reach the big 40. We hope you will join us to celebrate our anniversary and we would love you to share with us your favourite NBT moments from the past 40 years. Email them to media@northernballettheatre.co.uk or write to us at the normal address.

Northern Ballet Theatre would like to thank you for your continued support and wish you a very Happy New Year.
